Atlanta Braves fans have waiting 190 days to get the bitter taste out of our mouths. It’s Opening Day… finally!

Tomorrow the Atlanta Braves start the 2012 season. With one day left to go let’s remember the 1995 World Series team and hope the 2012 has a similar fate.
During this long countdown I haven’t mentioned Ted Turner. I would be remiss not to mention the man that Turner Field is named after. Without Ted Turner the Braves would have never won the World Series and wouldn’t be one of the most popular baseball teams in Major League Baseball.

It’s 5 days until the Atlanta Braves season begins. Number 5 is the number of Braves’ first baseman Freddie Freeman. Freeman is coming into the 2012 season to destroy souls in the NL East.
It should also be noted that Keith Law of ESPN Insider said this about Freeman before last season:
Freeman keeps performing even though he is young for his levels and doesn’t possess any plus tools to get you excited … He’s an above-average [defensive] first baseman and is ready to step in now as Atlanta’s first baseman, so the lack of ceiling is mitigated by the fact he can provide value right away.
Oops!

It’s 6 days until the Braves play their opening game against the Mets. 6 is also the number for future Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox. 2504 wins. It doesn’t get much better than that.

The Atlanta Braves Opening Day Countdown is at 7. The season is only a week away. Can you believe it?

The Atlanta Braves Opening Day Countdown is at 9. 9 is the number before 10 and before there was Chipper Jones at third base there was Terry Pendleton.
